Who Can MATA Train in Cosmetic Injectable Therapies/Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers?
Whilst MATA believe that those with beauty therapist qualifications have the understanding to carry out the treatments they do in their position, they are not eligible for our injectables (Botox and filler) training as they do not have the same level of knowledge as registered medical professionals (doctors, dentists, and nurses) who ARE eligible for our training. Botox is a prescription medicine, and in addition, allied health care professionals (doctors, dentists, and nurses) are in a better position to deal with any complications which are rare may occur during these treatments. MATA has never accepted any non-medics such as beauty therapists on to our courses. When accepting you on to our course we will ask for your GMC, GDC or NMC pin to check your medical registration. As per regulations and insurance, prescribing pharmacists are also eligible for this training.
Non-prescriber nurses are allowed to attend our courses but must work alongside a prescriber for Botulinum Toxin treatments.
Those with Beauty NVQ are suitable for our chemical peels training and aesthetic laser qualifications (except for ablative lasers).
