One Day Minor Surgical Skills Update and Assessment

This is a one day clinic based event to update and refresh experienced practitioners who are carrying out minor surgical procedures procedures and wish to meet the requirements of the 2014 DES Minor Surgery Contract.

As well as viewing various videos and demonstrations by the tutor, delegates will also undertake minor surgical procedures under the tutor’s guidance and DOPS (Direct Observation of Procedural Skills) assessments as required by NHS England.  Small group work, a question and answer session and skin and suture models to enhance learning.

Tutors

Tutors are from our highly skilled group of GPs, GPwSI, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists and MSK Physiotherapists.
Our lead tutor is Dr. Apul Parikh (MBChB, MRCS, EBOPRAS, MRCGP< PGdipClin Ed) who is the current lead for minor surgery at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).
